7 Pictures Are Better Than Words

I recently returned from a 6 week trip to India, and since I’ve been back I have literally been walking around with my head in the clouds.

It’s like I don’t want to come back down to reality because the experience was so incredibly soul-stirring, the memories are still so moving and I have enough sight, sound and smell souvenirs (think colorful clothes, devotional chants and sandalwood incense) from my trip that I still feel so close to the experience that I don’t want to let it go…

It’s true I’ve been behind on writing the Urban Practice posts I have planned for you, but you can be sure that I have some good bursts of insight waiting to be shared in the coming weeks as I continue to process all of the learning I absorbed backpacking from one end of India to another.

Words can barely capture how beautiful India is and I get serious writer’s block trying to express it. In times like these, less is more, so in this post I will share 7 of my favorite photos from my trip and you can let your own imagination soar…

Flowers in Auroville, an ashram community outside of Pondicherry in the South India state of Tamil Nadu
A blessing from the Temple Elephant in Pondicherry
The incomparably beautiful backwaters in the South Indian state of Kerala
Wise words from the wise ones
Striking a yoga pose in the middle of natural beauty in the northern Indian state of Madhya Pradesh
Humanity’s teardrop – the Taj Mahal
Hindu sadhu in the Ram temple town of Orchha in Madhya Pradesh

  1. These are really remarkable pictures, Zara! You definitely have a gift for photography, along with your already established gifts as a yoga and meditation teacher, writer and baker!
